Henri Hurtebize
Senior Designer
Henri studied Horticulture and Landscape Design in Lille, followed by a specialism in Landscape Architecture at Charlemagne Agro near Brussels. Whilst studying, he gained valuable practical experience and developed his interest for historical gardens and landscapes. After completing formal education, he travelled to Australia for a year driven by his passion for vast landscapes, native plants, photography and videography.
In 2011 he moved to the UK to develop his career and worked for a number of well-known practices including Dan Pearson Studio. Henri’s experience and horticultural knowledge has grown extensively having worked on large projects in the UK and in Europe ranging from a townhouse garden in Paris, a two-hectare site in Cap d'Antibes and a large Château Estate in Provence on the Côte d'Azur.
In 2016, Henri moved away from the studio and into the garden working as a gardener in Sussex at Great Dixter, Tidebrook Manor and Gravetye Manor. Mentored by renowned head gardeners Fergus Garrett, Ed Flint and Tom Coward, he gained invaluable experience in plant combinations, garden management and daily maintenance throughout the seasons. Henri joined MBS in 2024.
