Matilde has a degree in Landscape Architecture from Lisbon University. An exchange programme in France proved an invaluable contribution to the completion of her master’s thesis about the Hedgerows in Douro International Natural Park.
In addition to her studies, Matilde worked as a guide at the Ajuda Botanical Garden and as a volunteer in several environmental organisations. These experiences allowed her to expand her knowledge in the history of gardens, botany and horticulture. She brings this experience to large scale private gardens where sensitivity to the history and existing planting of the site is paramount.
